The Crest
The Crest consists of the design of a wheel with an open book and a lamp with a flame at the center. The motto inscribed on it is the famous Upanisadic prayer : "Tamasau Maa Jyotirgamaya" that means "Lead me from darkness to illumination."
Apart from being the general design of the Crest, the wheel symbolizes the eternal cycle of life and time. The small circle within a big one containing an open book in between "Krushna" the incarnation of God and the burning lamp symbolizes knowledge, wisdom and perfection through the amalgamation of big and small, knowledge and power and divine and the mundane.
