THE DRAMATIC SOCIETY :
The Dramatic Society
organises drama. Students show their excellence in dramatic art
through performances. THE DAY-SCHOLAR-ASSOCIATION : The object of the Association is to take up such activities as may foster the spirit of fellow feeling and co-operation among all students in general and the Day Scholar. THE ENGLISH ASSOCIATION : The Association came into being in 1964. The Association aims at inculcating interest of its member in language and literature and eliciting their better personality through debates, competitions and symposium and learned discussion of eminent scholars and through other cultural performances. THE HISTORY SOCIETY : The Society was started in 1964 with a view to arranging debates, reading papers on matters of historical importance and going places of historical interest. THE ECONOMIC SOCIETY : The Economics Society has been in existence since 1964. It arranges discussions and debates on economics subject of current interest. Papers on different subjects are read and discussed from time to time in the seminar meetings of the society and eminent economist are invited to address the Society. THE POLITICAL SCIENCE SOCIETY : The Political Science Society belongs to the political Science students and teachers of the college and is complementary to the course of studies offered by the Department of political Science. The Society aims at inculcating a genuine love for the dispassionate study of Political reality and ideas as well as fostering a spirit of enlightened citizenship among the students through regular meetings and discussion of problems of common interest. THE ODIA SAHITYA SAMAJ : The Oriya Sahitya Samaj started in 1964. Its aim is to study and improve Odia literature by holding competitions of various literary topics and awarding prizes and certificates to the best competitors and arranging lectures from time to time by eminent literary men & women. It also aims at collecting and preserving 'Pithis' & 'Khedass' to carry out research, it looks forward to publishing important manuscripts and celebrating the anniversaries of the eminent poets and writers of Orissa. THE PHILOSOPHY SOCIETY : The philosophy Society has been in Existence since 1975 Membership is open to all teachers and students of logic and Philosophy of the college. THE MATHEMATICS SOCIETY : The Mathematics society has been in existence since 1975, Membership is open to all teachers and students of Mathematics of the College. THE SANSKRIT PARISHAD : The Sanskrit Parishad came in to existence in the year 1975. It mainly aims at the development of Sanskrit learning and culture in the College by holding competition, arranging lectures, on Sanskrit poets and writers. THE EDUCATION SOCIETY : The Education Society has been in existence since 1975. Membership is open to all teachers and students of Education. THE SCIENCE SOCIETY : The Science Society came in to being in 974. Membership is open to all teachers and students of Science discipline. The Object of the Society are to arrange lectures and visit places of scientific interest. THE COMMERCE SOCIETY : The commerce society came into being in 2013-2014 with the opening of Degree classes in Commerce. Membership is open to all teachers and students of Commerce stream. The Objects of the Society are to arrange seminars, debates and visit places of commercial interest. THE PLANNING FORUM : A planning Forum has been operating in the College since 1964. The Planning Forum of the College brings students and teachers together in to the object of creating plan-consciousness and plan conviction among the students and the people at large. The work of the Forum is to study problems of planning and reconstruction, to communicate their views, comments and suggestions for the consideration of the Planning Commission and the State Government, to conduct surveys of Social and economic conditions of the region and organize developmental activities of the areas. Surveys about the living condition, resource benefits of economic development and the impact of planning are also undertaken from time to time. The forum too conducts study tour to serve the purpose of education. THE ATHLETIC CLUB : All members of the staff and students are members of the club. An annual subscription of Rs: 30/- shall be collected from each student of the club at the beginning of the session. |
